How much does a website redesign cost in 2026?

A website redesign for a small business costs about $1,500 to $10,000 with a freelancer or small studio, and about $5,000 to $40,000 with an agency. We put eight published price lists side by side, then added what our own redesigns needed that a quote can miss.

03Good to know

Why the quotes disagree.

01

Some are written for a different buyer.

Huemor opens with $50,000 to $150,000 because it means most B2B redesigns. Its small business line is $10,000 to $25,000, for 5 to 15 pages with lead forms, a blog and light SEO.

02

Some buy more work.

CityPeak's $2,495 covers 5 pages. Clique Studios puts 10 to 20 pages at $15,000 to $40,000, and prices each unique page template at $3,000 to $8,000 on its own.

03

Some are the same number.

WebFX, Lean Labs, 925studios and 310 Creative all print $3,000 to $75,000. Four pages agreeing is not four studies, so use a range like that as a rough map and ask for an itemized quote.

04Which one you need

Refresh, redesign or rebuild?

  1. Refresh

New colors, fonts, images and spacing on the same structure. Bonnie Sorsby lists $500 to $2,000. It fits a site that works and only looks tired.

  2. Redesign

New layout, new text and new page structure on the same domain. Lean Labs says a full redesign comes close to the price of a rebuild.

  3. Rebuild

A new site from zero, because the old one is the problem. The gap can be small: CityPeak lists a 5-page redesign at $2,495 and a new 5-page site at $2,995.

05The price drivers

What raises a redesign quote.

  1. Extra pages

CityPeak adds $400 a page after the first 5.

  2. New text

Clique Studios puts copywriting at $100 to $300 a page. Ask if it is in the quote, because a new design on old text is only half a redesign.

  3. Photos and video

Clique lists custom photography at $3,000 to $15,000 and video at $5,000 to $25,000 each. Ask what you can reuse.

  4. The platform

Bonnie Sorsby puts a WordPress redesign at $2,000 to $12,000, and Squarespace or Shopify at $1,500 to $15,000 and up.

  5. An online store

Huemor lists $50,000 to $125,000 for ecommerce. Clique starts at $40,000 for a store with 10 to 50 products.

  6. A short deadline

Lean Labs warns that squeezing the schedule brings rush fees or lower quality.

06From our own work

Four jobs a redesign quote should name.

These four jobs came up in our own redesigns, and none of them shows in a design mockup.

07Good to know

How to keep your Google rankings.

01

Expect some movement.

Google's site move guide says rankings can fluctuate while it recrawls the site, then settle down over time.

02

Map every old page.

List the old URLs, decide where each one goes, and set permanent redirects such as 301. Google says to keep them for at least a year. Pages that keep their address need nothing.

08Good to know

What a redesign costs with us.

01

We price a redesign like a new site.

We rebuild it by hand in HTML, CSS and JavaScript and write the text, so it is one of our normal packages: Launch from $750, Business from $1,490 or Premium from $2,990. See what each one includes.

02

Or pay $0 to build.

The $0 website comes with a monthly plan of $99 or $295, after a free first month and with a 12-month minimum. The new site and its files are yours to keep.

09Questions

Still not sure?

Ask on a short call, or start with something free.

01How much does it cost to redesign a small business website?

In the lists above, about $1,500 to $10,000 with a freelancer or small studio, and about $5,000 to $40,000 with an agency. A visual refresh can be $500 to $2,000.

02Is a redesign cheaper than a new website?

Sometimes, but often not by much. CityPeak lists 5 pages at $2,495 as a redesign and $2,995 as a new site, and Lean Labs says a full redesign comes close to a rebuild. See what a new website costs.

03How long does a website redesign take?

It depends on who does it. 925studios says 2 to 6 weeks with a freelancer, Huemor says 3 to 4 months for a small business site, and 310 Creative says 3 to 9 months for a full redesign. Our Business package goes live in 2 to 3 weeks.

04Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It can. Google says rankings may fluctuate for a while during a move. Redirects from every old address help, and so does keeping the words your pages already rank for.

05Can I keep my domain and email?

Yes, if the move is planned. On one of our redesigns the email did not stop for a single minute. Name it in the quote so nobody touches the mail settings by accident.

06Are these prices final?

No. They are published prices and ranges, opened on 4 Nov 2026. Every project gets its own quote, so ask for one line per job.
